ROLLA, Mo. -- Kyle Jones has been named as an assistant in the athletic communications office at Missouri S&T. 
 
Jones graduated from Illinois College in 2019 with a bachelor's degree in business administration with a concentration in sports management.  Jones comes to S&T from Lyon College in Batesville, Ark., where he was an assistant in the athletic media and communications office.  While at Lyon College, Jones maintained statistical and record information for the athletic program, submitted NAIA reports, and supervised student workers for the athletic office. 
 
"Kyle is enthusiastic and excited to contribute to the S&T athletic department," said Melissa Ringhausen, Missouri S&T's Director of Athletics.  "He has the passion and love for sports that often accompanies an individual in this role and I am looking forward to working with him."
 
From 2021-22, Jones worked for the Salina Liberty indoor professional football team, assisting the general manager with day-to-day and game day operations.  He was responsible for overseeing sponsorship sales and served as the team's official scorer and statistician. 
 
Following graduation Jones worked as a member of the Street Team for the Phoenix Suns during the 2019-20 season assisting the marketing department with game day activities and marketing events for the greater Phoenix area.
 
Jones is a native of Pekin, Ill., and was a member of the Illinois College baseball program for two seasons and worked in the athletic communications office as a student worker during his four years.
