ROMEOVILLE, ILL.- S&T opened up their final road weekend today at Lewis. The Flyer's held the Miners offense quiet tonight as S&T suffered the 2-0 loss.
Lewis got the early lead when Cali Havelka-Vanderplow scored in the 5' of the game to give the Flyer's the 1-0 lead. S&T would tally four shots in the half, and nearly get one by LU's goalie, Lucy Clark, when
Ally Hasken (Freeport, IL/Freeport) sent one up top in the 41' of play.
Paige Jackson (St. Louis, MO/Incarnate Word Academy) would get the last shot of the first half wh4en she sent a ball just right of the net and the Miners would face the 1-0 deficit heading into the second half.
S&T's offense would fire off another three shots in the second half, but none would find their way past Lewis' goalkeeper.
The Flyers would extend their lead to 2-0 in the 76' when Courtney Sengstock found the back of the net. The Miners were unable to get any more shots off in the match and fell to Lewis 2-0.

Danielle Hopkins (Naperville, IL/Neuqua Valley),
Madeline Goeke (Florissant, Mo./Duchesne),
Melanie Kulig (Belleville, Ill./Belleville Township), and
Kaitlyn Schwandtner (Tebbetts, Mo./Jefferson City) all recorded shots in the game today.
Kristin Steins (Ballwin, Mo./Parkway South) got the start in goal today making six saves in 90 minutes of play.
