Miners Face Off With Panthers This Saturday

ROLLA, MO-The Miner softball team will continue GLVC play this weekend when they host the Panthers of Drury University this Saturday afternoon.

S&T (4-14, 4-4 GLVC) is coming off a series split with Southwest Baptist this past Sunday that saw Maddy Passolano (Mokena, Ill./Lockport Township) go 2-4 on the day with a homerun and score three times.

In the Miners 7-0 win over the Bearcats, S&T picked up two runs in each of the 4th, 5th, and 7th innings to cruise to the win. Bryn Wooldridge (Salisbury, Mo./Salisbury) picked up her second win of the season to move to 2-2 and allowed just two hits and struck out four in seven innings of work.

For the season, Passolano, Taylor Caton (Ballwin, Mo/Parkway West), Kate Baxter (New Bloomfield, MO/New Bloomfield), and Holli Finnell (Nolensville, TN/Nolensville) have been the Miners constants in the batter's box; all four are batting over .300 for the season with a combined eight homeruns between them.

In the pitcher's circle, Kate Baxter (New Bloomfield, MO/New Bloomfield), Charlye Rowland (Pearcy, Ark./Lake Hamilton), and Bryn Wooldridge (Salisbury, Mo./Salisbury) have been the go-to's for the Miners. Between the three, they have recorded 48 strikeouts in 94.0 innings of work.

Drury (11-6, 5-1 GLVC) is coming off back-to-back wins over SBU this past Saturday that saw the Panthers outscore the Bearcats 16-2 over the two games.

For the season, Lauren Beier leads the team in the batter's box with a .438 average with 28 hits in 64 at-bats while Hannah Chambliss, Abbey McAteer, and Grace King have added inn a combined 54 hits in the teams 17 games played.

In the circle, Karsyn Smith leads the team with a 1.14 ERA and a 3-0 record in 11 appearances. Beier, who leads the team with 30 strikeouts, has made eight appearances and holds a 3-1 record in 44.1 innings pitched.
