ROLLA, MO- The Miners (1-5-1, 1-5-1 GLVC) will hit the road this weekend, heading up to the St. Louis area to take on Missouri-St. Louis and McKendree this Friday and Sunday.
S&T is coming off a heartbreaking 1-0 loss to Lindenwood this past Sunday. After playing dead even with the Lions for 73 minutes, LWU was able to connect for a goal that would end up giving them the game.
For the season,
Beth Roberts (Lake St. Louis, MO/Liberty) leads the team with two goals while
Paige Jackson (St. Louis, MO/Incarnate Word Academy) and
Kaitlyn Schwandtner (Tebbetts, Mo./Jefferson City) both have one goal recorded.
Viktoria Johnson (Granite City, Ill./Granite City) and
Kristin Steins (Ballwin, Mo./Parkway South) have split time in goal for the Miners this season with Johnson leading the way with 20 saves while Steins has 13 saves recorded in 336 minutes of work.
Missouri-St. Louis (3-3-2, 3-3-2 GLVC) recorded their third and fourth straight shutout this past weekend with 2-0 and 1-0 wins over Southwest Baptist and Drury.
In UMSL's win over Drury, Casey Clark scored in the 35' of the game to give the Tritons a 1-0 lead. UMSL's Brynne Qualley would make six saves in the 90 minutes to secure their win.
For the Tritons, Ayana Weissenfluh leads the team with three goals while Casey Clark has recorded two.
McKendree (7-1, 7-1 GLVC) is currently on a four-game winning streak that was extended when they took down 13
th ranked Rockhurst 4-0 and defeated the Bearcats of SBU 3-2 this past weekend.
In the Bearcats game against SBU, Emma Knoebel recorded a hat trick with goals in the 40', 67', and 96' to give McKendree the 3-2 OT win.
For the season, Knoebel leads the team with five goals while Anna Stiffler and Alynnah O'Leary are not far behind her with three and two goals, respectively.
In goal, Mercedes King has been the go-to for the Bearcats with 11 saves and six shutouts recorded in 740 minutes of work.
