ROLLA, Mo. – Missouri S&T defensive back
Cameron Clemons (St. Louis, MO/Lutheran North), who was named to the All-Great Lakes Valley Conference team earlier this week, was selected to the D2CCA All-Super Region 3 first team for the recently completed 2021 season.
Clemons, who as a first-team selection will be eligible for Academic All-America honors, led the GLVC with 17 pass breakups during the season and his 1.9 passes defended per game ranks second in NCAA Division II. He also had four pass interceptions, including one that set up the Miners' game-winning touchdown in the fourth quarter in the win at McKendree and another returned 32 yards for a touchdown as part of the Miners' rally from a 27-point second half deficit in their season-ending victory at Southwest Baptist.
He finished the season with 43 total tackles and one fumble recovery that he returned for 10 yards.
Clemons was one of three first-team selections from the GLVC on the squad – all on the defensive side of the ball – and five overall picks.
