ROLLA, Mo. – Missouri S&T head football coach Todd Drury has announced that the Miner football program has added 19 student-athletes to play football at the university in the 2019 season.  Players could begin signing national letters of intent, which binds them to the institution for one year, beginning on Feb. 6.

During the signing period, the Miners have added four linebackers, three wide receivers, three defensive backs, two quarterbacks, two offensive linemen, two defensive linemen, two running backs, tight end and placekicker.  Geographically. S&T has signed nine players from the state of Missouri, as well as four from Illinois, four from Texas and one each from Oklahoma and Indiana.

Following are the student-athletes who are coming to Missouri S&T for the 2018 season:

Trevor Anthony, TE, 6-5, 230, Elsberry, Mo. (Clopton HS): Anthony earned honors in his prep career as both a lineman and a tight end, earning second-team all-conference and all-district laurels as a tight end and first-team all-league honor as an offensive lineman, where he was a two-time all-district pick.  He was a versatile player at the high school level as he also played linebacker as well as the offensive positions.  He plans to major in chemical engineering at Missouri S&T.

"Trevor is a big, tough tight end from Clopton High School. We are excited to get him on campus and see how he grows and develops in our program," Drury said. "He has all of the physical tools needed to become an outstanding player in the GLVC."

Reese Barnett, WR, 5-11, 161, Clayton, Mo. (Clayton HS): Barnett was a two-time all-conference wide receiver – earning first-team honors in 2018 – and was named twice as his team's most valuable wide receiver.  In the 2018 season, Barnett caught 48 passes for 792 yards and seven touchdowns, following a junior year where he hauled in 13 passes and scored twice.  He plans to major in civil engineering at Missouri S&T.

"Reese is a wide receiver from Clayton High School. His natural speed and hands are going to be put to work by our offense staff," Drury said. "He is flat out fast and will continue to develop into a complete receiver."

Parker Boyce, K, 6-0, 185, Hartsburg, Mo. (Southern Boone HS): Boyce was a three-time all-state selection as a kicker, including winning first-team honors on two occasions and also won two special teams player of the year honors.  Boyce was a three-time first-team all-conference selection and plans to major in biological sciences at Missouri S&T.

"Parker is a kicker from Southern Boone. He has a big time leg and we are excited to see how he can help us establish field position and score points," Drury said.

Jay Callentine, LB, 6-2, 180, West Chicago, Ill. (Wheaton Academy): Callentine was a four-year starter at the high school level, where he finished with 78 tackles in his junior year. He plans to major in architectural engineering at Missouri S&T.

"Jay is an outside linebacker from Wheaton Academy. He is an explosive and physical player that can set the edge or drop into coverage," Drury said. "We are looking forward to using him in a lot of different ways."

Alijah Clark, DB, 6-2, 178, Florissant, Mo. (Hazelwood Central HS): Clark recorded 29 tackles, including 21 solo stops during his senior year at the high school level, after posting four stops as a junior.  He plans to major in business administration at Missouri S&T.

"Alijah is a long and athletic corner from Hazelwood Central. He has played corner and safety while showing the ability to be physical and cover," Drury said. "We are really fired up to see how he develops and see the player that he is going to grow into."

Seth Fortner, QB, 6-3, 175, Cedar Hill, Mo. (Northwest HS): Fortner played quarterback and was also a long snapper at the high school level, where he earned first-team all-conference and second-team all-district honors following the 2018 season.  He threw for 871 yards and nine touchdowns last fall after throwing for 717 yards and four scores as a junior.  He plans to major in education at Missouri S&T.

"Seth is a versatile quarterback from Northwest High School," Drury said. "He has shown that he can make great decisions with the football and has the athleticism to move the sticks. Seth is also an established long snapper."

Jamie Gott, OL, 6-6, 250, Marion, Ill. (Marion HS): Gott was a first-team all-conference selection in the South Seven Conference and was also named to the all-southern Illinois team by the Southern Illinois Coaches Association.  In addition, he also earned academic all-state honors and plans to major in biology at Missouri S&T.

"Jamie is an offensive lineman from Marion High School. He is a long, athletic tackle that we are excited to see develop," Drury said. "On his tape, he showed us the ability to strike and finish. We are excited to get him in Miner green."

Sean Hunter, RB, 5-11, 185, Katy, Texas (Cypress Lakes HS): Hunter earned first-team all-district honors at running back last fall and was also named as his team's most valuable player on offense after earning second-team all-district honors as a junior.  He had two games with over 150 yards rushing during the course of the 2018 season.  He plans to major in business management at Missouri S&T.

"Sean is a powerful running back with big play potential. We are excited to add him to our already explosive backfield," Drury said.

Aidan Hurtado, DL, 6-3, 245, Austin, Texas (McNeil HS): Hurtado, who was a captain on his high school team, earned all-district honors following the 2018 season.  Hurtado also earned academic all-district honors as well.  He plans to major in business management at Missouri S&T.

"Aidan is an explosive defensive lineman from McNeil High School in Texas," Drury said. "His high school film shows his ability to get off the ball quickly and his violent hands. He will be a great addition to our defensive line."

Jared King, DB, 6-0, 190, Joliet, Ill. (Joliet Central HS): King landed all-conference and second-team all-area honors following the 2018 season while serving as a team captain.  He plans to major in mathematics and secondary education at Missouri S&T.

"Jared King is a multi-position player from Joliet Central. On the football field, he can do it all," Drury said. "We are going to start him off at safety and allow him to grow. He is a great athlete and his smoothness, change of direction and contact courage should make him a staple in the defensive backfield."

Blaize Klossner, WR, 5-10, 160, Rolla, Mo. (Rolla HS): Klossner had an outstanding senior year at Rolla High School, where he was named second-team all-state as well as first-team all-region, all-district and all-conference in the Ozark Conference.  During the 2017 season, Klossner hauled in a school record 103 passes for 1,196 yards and 10 touchdowns in helping the Bulldogs reach the Missouri Class 4 quarterfinals; he recorded a school record 165 receptions during his prep career.  He plans to major in mathematics at Missouri S&T.

"Blaize is a big-time playmaker from Rolla High School. His smooth route running and his ability to track the ball make him an every down threat," Drury said. "We are excited to keep the former Bulldog in Rolla for the next four years."

Reese Lillie, WR, 6-4, 205, Plainfield, Ill. (Plainfield Central HS): Lillie was an all-conference selection in the 2018 season and was also named to the Herald-News all-area team as an honorable mention selection.  He was named as his high school team's offensive player of the year after compiling 314 receiving yards and six touchdowns.  He plans to major in engineering at Missouri S&T.

"Reese will be a big time target for our quarterbacks," Drury said. "He is a wide receiver who at 6-4 is a matchup nightmare. Coach (Andy) Ball and Coach (Michael) Burton are already drawing up ways to use his size and natural ability."

Shane Martin, LB, 6-1, 212, Raymore, Mo. (Raymore-Peculiar HS): Martin earned all-conference honors in the Big Seven Division in each of the last two seasons and also landed all-district and all-conference honors in both of those years.  A captain on his team in the 2018 season, Martin was a Wendy's Heisman finalist in the state of Missouri and a three-year letterman at the high school level; he has also qualified for the state championships in wrestling on three occasions.  He plans to major in petroleum engineering at Missouri S&T.

"Shane is a linebacker whose physical nature and nose for the ball make him an excellent player for that position," Drury said.  "He has all the tools that you look for in playmakers on the defensive side of the ball."

Nick Mattli, DL, 6-1, 225, O'Fallon, Mo. (Fort Zumwalt South HS): Mattli was named to the Gateway Athletic Conference Central Division's all-conference team on both the offensive and defensive lines; he would go on to land first-team all-state laurels on the defensive side of the ball after a year in which he recorded 85 tackles and nine sacks.  Mattli was also a third-team all-state selection as a junior, when he had 75 tackles and five sacks.  An academic all-conference selection as well, Mattli plans to major in business at Missouri S&T.

"Nick is a violent and disruptive defensive lineman from Fort Zumwalt South High School. He embodies everything we want in a defensive lineman," Drury said. "His length and explosiveness really brought him to our attention and when we turned on the tape he was a clear choice."

Mitch Miller, QB, 6-1, 180, Frisco, Texas (Liberty HS): Miller earned second-team all-district honors following the 2018 season after being an honorable mention pick as a junior.  He threw for over 1,300 yards during his senior season with 11 touchdown passes.  An academic all-state selection in 2018 and NIAAA scholar-athlete award winner, Miller plans to major in mechanical engineering at Missouri S&T.

"Mitch is a quarterback from Liberty High School in Frisco, Texas with a quick release and a big-time arm," Drury said. "He has played against some of the toughest competition in the nation while in high school and that competitive drive is what will make him successful at this level."

Cameron Orr, CB, 6-2, 170, Mansfield, Texas (Lake Ridge HS): Orr earned academic all-state and all-district honors while playing at Lake Ridge High School, which reached the third round of the Texas 6A Division II playoffs last fall.  He plans to major in biology at Missouri S&T.

"Cam is a very talented defensive back from Lake Ridge with the ability to play corner or safety," Drury said. "His length and toughness give him a skill set that is hard to find. As a staff, we are beyond excited to see Cam in a Miner green."

Carter Schnarr, LB, 6-1, 219, Evansville, Ind. (Reitz HS): Schnarr landed first-team all-metro, all-city and all-conference honors last season, while also being selected to the Region 9 all-star team.  Schnarr was an academic all-state selection and plans to major in information sciences and technology at Missouri S&T.

"Carter played mostly running back his senior year at Reitz, but we are excited to see his fast and relentless style of play on the defensive side of the ball," Drury said. "He is a big physical player with a very quick first step."

Jacob Slavick, OL, 6-4, 295, Midwest City, Okla. (Choctaw HS): Slavick earned all-conference honors at the high school level while playing both at guard and tackle on the offensive line.  He plans to major in computer engineering at Missouri S&T.

"Jacob is a nasty interior offensive lineman from Choctaw, Okla., with active feet," Drury said.  "One of the main characteristics he displays is the ability to finish. He will be a big asset for our offense in the future."

Brett Stanfield, LB, 6-0, 190, Hartsburg, Mo. (Southern Boone HS): Stanfield earned second-team all-state and first-team all-district honors following the 2018 season, when he also earned first-team all-conference laurels after setting a school record with 139 tackles.  Stanfield also landed academic all-state honors and plans to major in engineering management at Missouri S&T.

"Brett is a ball hawk linebacker from Southern Boone," Drury said. "He has the ability to stop the run and rush the passer. We are excited about his versatility in our defense."
