10th-ranked Knights knock off Miners

LOUISVILLE, Ky. – Missouri S&T's men's soccer team ran into a team that has not lost a game in over a year Sunday afternoon and 10th-ranked Bellarmine was able to extend its unbeaten streak to 24 games with a 4-0 victory over the Miners in Great Lakes Valley Conference play.

The Knights (11-0-4, 8-0-4 GLVC) scored twice in each half to send S&T (5-8-2, 4-7-2 GLVC) to its third straight loss.

Bellarmine got two goals from Micah Linscott, the first coming in the seventh minute of play to begin the scoring.  The Knights also got a goal from Eddie Williamson in the 17th minute, Linscott's second tally in the 64th minute and the last from Haziq Zed in the 73rd minute.

The Knights had a 16-9 advantage in shots and had nine shots on net to S&T's two, which came from Sigurd Semlitsch (Oslo, Norway/Stabekk Videregaaende Skole) and Austin Parks (Rolla, MO/Rolla)Michael Sallee (Springfield, MO/Catholic), who was making his first career start in goal, finished with five saves.

Missouri S&T will return to action Friday when it faces McKendree at 7:30 p.m. in Lebanon, Ill.
