EVANSVILLE, IND-Looking to start a win streak back up after their take-down of Indianapolis, the Miners traveled to the University of Southern Indiana to face off with the Screaming Eagles. S&T saw trouble in the second half, dropping the game 76-61.

USI took a commanding 10-2 lead to start the game.

The Miners finally found their rhythm as they answered with an 11-2 run topped off by a steal and a fast break lay-up from
Ashley Harvey (Raytown, Mo./Raytown) with two minutes left in the opening quarter.

Ashley Harvey (Raytown, Mo./Raytown) would score the last four points of the quarter for S&T to give them a 17-16 lead.

The Screaming Eagles took it to the Miners in the second quarter, holding them to just 13 points while putting up 23. USI's Imani Guy and Emma DeHart combined for 15 of the team's 23 points in the second quarter that would put S&T at a 39-30 deficit going into the break.

The third quarter was not much better for the Miners; putting up only 13 points again and turning the ball over five times.

A 10-0 run from Southern Indiana to start the half would put the Miners down by 17. Baskets from
Alex Kerr (St. Louis, Mo./St. Joseph's Academy),
Maddie Raley (Haubstadt, Ind./Gibson Southern), and
Laura Rodriguez (Gran Canaria, Spain/Baloncesto Torrelodones) would keep S&T in the game and cut their deficit to 11 with 1:37 remaining in the quarter.

Southern Indiana's offense could not be stopped as they pushed their lead back out to 16 before heading into the final quarter.

It was too late for the Miners to make their comeback in the 4
th. Despite outscoring the Screaming Eagles 18-17 in the final 10 minutes, the defining lead would be too much for the Miners. S&T would drop to 7-8 and 3-5 in GLVC play with the 76-61 loss.

Alex Kerr (St. Louis, Mo./St. Joseph's Academy) led the Miner's with her second double-double of the season with 14 points and 10 rebounds while
Maddie Raley (Haubstadt, Ind./Gibson Southern) reached double figures for the 11
thtime this season with 11 points.

As a team, the Miners finished the game shooting 39.7% from the field and 40% from three-point range. Their bench accounted for 20 of the teams 61 points while getting almost half of their points in the paint.
