ROLLA, Mo. – Missouri S&T struggled to find the net Friday night as it was shut out for the first time in the 2018 season, falling to Bellarmine 2-0 at the S&T Soccer Field in the Great Lakes Valley Conference opener for both teams.

The Miners had a couple of good chances, the first coming in the opening minutes of the contest when
Austin Parks (Rolla, MO/Rolla) got a pass in front from
Unnar Ulfarsson (Gardabaer, Iceland/Fjolnir Reykjavik) but hit the shot wide of the net.
In the 57
th minute, the Miners got a free kick opportunity on the Bellarmine side of the field and
Jason Jorgensen (Florence, Italy/Liceo Scientifico Santa Maria) hit a shot that Knight goalkeeper Connor Range bobbled for a moment, but was able to keep the ball out of the net and keep S&T off the scoreboard.
Bellarmine (2-2, 1-0 GLVC) outshot the Miners (0-4, 0-1 GLVC) 21-4, with Posey ending the contest with six saves.
