Rolla, Mo. – Missouri S&T's volleyball team concludes its three match homestand on Wednesday evening hosting Truman State at 7 p.m. at the Bullman Multi-Purpose Building. Fans attending Wednesday's match are encouraged to wear green to the match for the team's Green Out Night. The first 100 Missouri S&T students with a vaild I.D. will get a free shirt and there will be shirts available for sale for $10.
The Miners (5-8, 1-3 GLVC) look to build off their sweep of Maryville on Saturday when they host the Bulldogs.
Emilee Schlader (Lewiston, Idaho/Lewiston) continues to lead the offensive attack averaging 3.31 kills per set while
Claire Friedlund (Parkville, Mo./Park Hill South) and
Carlie Combs (O'Fallon, Mo./St. Dominic) are averaging 2.83 and 2.42 kills per set respectively.
Sarah McGinnis (Middleton, Wis./Edgewood) and
Alexis White (Auburn, Wash./Riverside) are the quarterbacks of the offense averaging 6.09 and 4.94 assists per set each.
Corinne Stulce (St. Charles, Mo./Duchesne) is currently ranked 10
th in the conference averaging 4.53 digs per set while
Calla Meyer (Clackamas, Ore./Clackamas) is tied for second in the league averaging 1.24 blocks per set.
Truman State enters Thursday's match with a mark of 5-7, 1-2 GLVC. They had their three match winning streak snapped by McKendree in a five set loss in Kirksville this past Saturday. Jasmine Brown leads the Bulldog attack averaging 2.95 kills per set while Sam Yancy and Jocelynn Livingston are averaging 2.73 and 2.70 kills per set. Savvy Hughes is dishing out 8.83 assists per set while Lauren Wacker is the leader on the defensive side of the ball with 4.76 digs per set. Natalie Brimeyer is fourth in the GLVC in blocks per set at 1.24.
Rockhurst improved to 11-3 and 3-1 in conference play after picking up three wins at home last week. The Hawks started the week with a 3-0 victory over Lindenwood, then defeated Missouri-St. Louis in five sets and then finished the week off with a four set win over Illinois Springfield. Rockhurst has won four straight matches and seven of their last eight overall heading into their match against Drury on Friday.
The Hawks have four players averaging at least two kills per set led by Alyssa Woodman at 3.22. Karli Reichert is averaging 2.98 per set while Emily Matio and Payton Chohon are contributing 2.07 and 2.00 per set respectively. Grace Carter is the primary setter averaging 8.42 assists per set while Lily Thornberg is averaging 3.29 per set. Anne Hellwege leads the club in digs and ranks fourth in the GLVC with 4.98 per set.
