Springfield, Ill. – The Missouri S&T Lady Miners gave up two goals in the final 10 minutes of its 2-0 loss at Illinois Springfield on Sunday afternoon. The game was a physical affair featuring 19 fouls and four yellow cards.
The game was scoreless until Madisyn Coudriet scored an unassisted goal in the 83
rd minute off a shot near the right sideline. The Prairie Stars (5-1-2, 2-1-1 GLVC) added an insurance goal nearly two minutes later when Meghan Delaney ran down a pass from Kaylan Mills and scored from the right side of the goal for her third tally of the season.
Andrea Aller (Bettendorf, Iowa/Pleasant Valley) tried to get the Lady Miners (0-6, 0-4 GLVC) on the board in the 87
th minute but her shot was saved by Paloma Guijarro.
UIS finished the contest with a 17-10 advantage in shots and 6-5 in shots on goal.
Andrea Aller (Bettendorf, Iowa/Pleasant Valley) led S&T with three shots, one on goal while
Riley Cronin (Albuquerque, N. M./Sandia Prep) had two shots, both on goal.
The Lady Miners are back at home on Friday taking on Quincy at 5 p.m.
