Springfield, Ill. – Missouri S&T's volleyball team fell in straight sets at Illinois Springfield on Saturday afternoon. The Miners had a difficult time containing the Prairie Stars (15-8, 7-4 GLVC) attack allowing them to hit .301 percent for the match and register 48 kills while they were held to just 22 kills and a .029 attack percentage.
Ellen Schulz (Wildwood, Mo./Eureka) led the Miners with six kills while
Claire Friedlund (Parkville, Mo./Park Hill South) and
Emilee Schlader (Lewiston, Idaho/Lewiston) had five kills each.
Alexis White (Auburn, Wash./Riverside) dished out 15 assists and
Corinne Stulce (St. Charles, Mo./Duchesne) finished with 15 digs.
Alyssa Hasler finished with a match-high 12 kills and Brianna Bush added 10 kills for the Stars. Tiffany Wentworth handed out 42 assists while Courtney Schutt had 16 digs.
S&T (8-16, 1-10 GLVC) is back at home on Friday evening taking on Bellarmine in a 6 p.m. contest at the Bullman Multi-Purpose Building.
