Box Score Rolla, Mo. – Missouri S&T's women's soccer played to scoreless draw against Maryville on Friday evening at the S&T Soccer Field. The Lady Miners outshot the Saints (7-3-3, 6-2-3 GLVC) in the contest 23-16 but each side had eight shots on goal.
Each side took six shots in the opening 45 but S&T put three of theirs on goal compared to two for Maryville. The Lady Miners dominated the stat sheet in the second half outshooting Maryville 16-6 and had a 5-3 edge in shots on goal but were unable to get anything past the Saints keeper.
Maryville outshot S&T 4-1 in the two overtime periods and
Liz Carrano (Gurnee, Ill./Warren Township) made three big saves in goal including two in the second overtime to keep the game tied.
Mikaela Mockenhaupt (Oswego, Ill./Oswego),
Kayla Foster (Sand Springs, Okla./Charles Page) and
Madison Morris (Tulsa, Okla./Edison) combined to take 14 of the Lady Miner shots in the contest with five of those being on goal. Carrano finished the evening making eight saves to pick up her first career shutout.
S&T (0-11-1, 0-9-1 GLVC) plays its final home Sunday contest of the year against Missouri-St. Louis this Sunday at 12 p.m. at the S&T Soccer Field. The Lady Miners will honor seniors: Nicole, Kelly,
Amalia Tettambel (St. Louis, Mo./Visitation),
Riley Cronin (Albuquerque, N. M./Sandia Prep) and
Madison Morris (Tulsa, Okla./Edison) before the start of the match.
