Camery’s OT goal lifts Lady Miners to 3-2 win over Greyhounds

Rolla, Mo. – Leah Camery (Anchorage, Alaska/Steller Secondary School)'s first goal of the season came at a perfect time for the Missouri S&T Lady Miners scoring just past the midway point of the first overtime in S&T's 3-2 win over Indianapolis on Sunday at Allgood-Bailey Stadium. The Lady Miners outshot the Greyhounds 15-14 in the contest.

The game was scoreless until the 24th minute when Camery sent a ball over the top of the defense that Julie Bride (Stilwell, Kan./St. Thomas Aquinas) tracked down and beat the keeper one on one inside the right post for her first goal of the season. S&T added to its lead nearly seven minutes later when Carli Tastad (Belleville, Ill./Belleville West) put home a rebound off Mikaela Mockenhaupt (Oswego, Ill./Oswego)'s shot that hit the left post.

The Lady Miner (1-1, 1-0 GLVC) defense allowed eight shots in the opening half but none of those reached Karen Nightingale (Ellisville, Mo./Marquette) as the defense blocked at least five shots.
Indianapolis (2-2, 1-1 GLVC) cut the S&T lead in half 10 minutes into the second frame. Stephanie Burdsall went down the right side of the box and played it back to Kacey Wells who scored inside the right post from about 10 yards away.

The Greyhounds tied the game in the 68th minute on a goal from Sam Enloe from Burdsall. Burdsall played one over the defense and Enloe ran onto it and chipped it over Nightingale.
S&T had a chance late in regulation on a shot by Madison Morris (Tulsa, Okla./Edison) that was deflected and saved by the keeper to keep the game tied. UIndy had a chance in the final minute but Nightingale made a diving save to force the extra period.

In the overtime frame, the Lady Miners had the only two shots in the extra session. Tastad had a chance from about 25 yards out less than a minute in that was saved by the keeper. S&T scored the game-winner after a great buildup. Tastad played a ball across the box to Camery and she was able to control it and blast it past the keeper inside the near post.

Camery, Tastad and Morris each had three shots for the Lady Miners with Tastad and Camery putting two each on goal. Nightingale made three saves in net.

Burdsall and Wells combined for nine of the Greyhounds 14 shots and four of their five shots on goal. Emma Crenshaw made three saves in the 'Hounds net.

S&T hits the road for the start of a four game roadtrip on Friday against Wisconsin-Parkside in Somers, Wis., at 2:30 p.m.
