Rolla, Mo. – The Missouri S&T Lady Miners head to Springfield to take on 14
th ranked Drury in a New Year's Eve matinee this Saturday at 1 p.m. The Lady Miners (6-4, 1-1 GLVC) look to bounce back from an 87-75 loss to Missouri Southern in their last game prior to the break while the Panthers (10-2, 2-0 GLVC) are riding a two-game winning streak.
S&T had four players finish in double figures in that loss to the Lions led by
Elsie Greenwood (Breckenridge, Mo./Penney High School)'s 15 points.
Raetchel Gray (Allen, Okla./Byng ) chipped in with 13 while
Katey Brown (Craig, Neb./Guardian Angels Central Catholic) added a career-high 12 points and
Jamy Douvier (Sedgwick, Kan./Sunrise Christian Academy) finished with 10 points.
Greenwood leads the team in scoring with 9.9 points per game heading into the second semester while
Janie Arand (Washington, Mo./St. Francis Borgia) is dropping in 9.3 points per contest and J. Douvier and Gray are averaging 7.6 and 7.5 points per night.
Kim Runge (Freedom, Wis./Freedom) continues to lead the way on the glass pulling down 6.2 rebounds per game and Brown is averaging 5.9 rebounds a contest.
Aricca Daye (Des Moines, Iowa/Des Moines East) leads the ball club with 38 assists and has 22 steals.
Drury ended its first half schedule with an 80-52 win over Quincy on Dec. 19 at the O'Reilly Family Events Center. The Panthers trailed by five at the break but outscored the Hawks 32-5 in the third quarter to take control of the game. Drury had four players reach double figures in the contest led by Hailey Diestelkamp with 23. Heather Harman added 16, Dejah Bernard chipped in with 12 and Briana Jones scored 10 off the bench.
The Panthers are averaging nearly 77 points per game and have four players averaging double figures led by Harman with 15.3 points a game. Paige Wilson is dropping in 11.7 a contest, Diestelkamp is averaging 11.3 a game and Jones is scoring 10.3 per night. Diestelkamp also leads the team in rebounding with nine per game while Harman leads the ball club with 46 assists and Bernard has a team-high 28 steals.
