Lebanon, Ill. – The Missouri S&T Lady Miners gave up a pair of goals about 20 minutes apart in its 2-0 loss at McKendree on Friday evening in Lebanon, Ill. The Bearcats (9-3, 6-3 GLVC) outshot the Lady Miners (2-7, 2-6 GLVC) 13-10 and 6-5 in shots on goal.
The game was scoreless until the 38
th minute when a foul in the penalty box was called on S&T giving McKendree a penalty kick. Sydnee Carroll knocked in the free kick for her 11
th goal of the season. The Bearcats dominated play in the first half outshooting the Lady Miners 6-1, 3-0 in shots on goal and 2-0 in corner kicks.
McKendree added to its lead 11:16 into the second half when Amanda Williams scored an unassisted goal off an S&T turnover for her third of the season. The Lady Miners turned up the intensity over the final 30 minutes looking to get back into the game.
Morgan Sikora (Highland, Ill./Highland) tried to head home a
Taylor Vollmer (Belleville, Ill./Belleville West) corner kick but her shot was blocked in the 61
st minute.
Mikaela Mockenhaupt (Oswego, Ill./Oswego) had a shot hit the post 1:23 later.

Riley Cronin (Albuquerque, N. M./Sandia Prep)'s header attempt was saved by Zoe Brochu and then Brochu stopped
Andrea Aller (Bettendorf, Iowa/Pleasant Valley ) three times in the span of two minutes.
S&T outshot the Bearcats 9-7 in the second half, 5-3 in shots on goal and had a 2-1 edge in corner kicks.
The Lady Miners head to Springfield, Ill., on Sunday to take on the Illinois Springfield Prairie Stars beginning at 12 p.m.
