Kansas City, Mo. – The Missouri S&T Lady Miners dropped its Great Lakes Valley Conference opener on the road against Rockhurst 3-0 on Friday evening at Bourke Field.

The Hawks (1-0-3, 1-0 GLVC) broke on top in the 10^th minute as Nicole Keever redirected a corner kick just across the goal line. That goal stood until the 58^th minute when Rockhurst was able to score off a rebound of a missed shot from six yards out on a goal by Kristin Wolff that went inside the right post.

The Hawks capped the scoring in the 75^th minute off another rebound as Jessica Smelcer struck one with her right foot to the near post for her second of the season.

Carrie Levy (Columbia, Mo./Rock Bridge ) made nine saves in goal for the Lady Miners (1-2, 0-1 GLVC) with five of those coming in the first 45 minutes.

S&T returns home on Sunday to take on William Jewell College in a 12 p.m. at the S&T Soccer Field.
