Rolla, Mo. – The Missouri S&T Lady Miners open Great Lakes Valley Conference play hosting the Maryville Saints on Thursday with the tip-off scheduled for 5:30 p.m. at the Bullman Multi-Purpose Building. Both teams enter Thursday's conference lid-lifter coming off of losses.

The Lady Miners look to build off their play in the fourth quarter of the game against Angelo State and snap a two-game losing streak in the process when they take the floor on Thursday. Bria Pierce (Overland Park, Kan./Blue Valley North) and Raetchel Gray (Allen, Okla./Byng ) lead S&T in scoring averaging 11.7 and 11.3 points per game respectively while Joe'l Bland (St. Charles, Mo./Homeschooled) is dropping home 9.5 a game and Sandra Douvier (Sedgwick, Kan./Sunrise Christian Academy) is averaging 9.3 per game.

In their last game the Lady Miners shot a season-high 52 percent (29-for-56) from the field but it wasn't enough falling to Angelo State 81-76 in San Antonio. Pierce led all scorers with 22 points while Gray and Elsie Greenwood (Breckenridge, Mo./Penney High School) had 12 points each and Bland dropped in 11.

In its last two games S&T has struggled to shooting the ball from the perimeter making just 2-of-17 shots and has turned the ball over 47 times. The Lady Miners turned the ball over a season-high 26 times against the Rambelles and allowed them to make nine of their 14 attempts from beyond the arc last Friday.

Maryville enters Thursday's game with a record of 4-1 after dropping a 76-72 decision against Concordia-St. Paul this past Saturday at the Ramada Oasis Convention Center/Drury Thanksgiving Classic.

The Saints are averaging 82 points per game and have three players averaging double figures in scoring led by Alex Hillyer with 15 points per game. Ali Ringering is contributing 13.6 points per game and Alex Wolf is dropping in 11.2 per contest.

Thursday's game marks the 13th meeting all-time between Maryville and Missouri S&T with the teams having split the first 12 meetings. However, the Saints have won the last five meeting with three of those having been decided by three points or less. It marks the sixth meeting all-time in Rolla with S&T holding a 3-2 edge in the series and it's the 11th meeting since Maryville joined the GLVC during the 2009-10 campaign.
