Volleyball concludes homestand on Tuesday with visit from Drury

(Rolla, Mo.) – Missouri S&T closes out its homestand on Tuesday evening with a visit from Drury University beginning at 7 p.m. S&T looks to bounce back from a defeat against Rockhurst this past Saturday.

The Miners had their five-match and 13-set win streaks broken with the loss against the Hawks. S&T has three players with over 100 kills led by freshman Claire Friedlund (Parkville, Mo./Park Hill South) with 113 while juniors Krista Haslag (Linn, Mo./Helias ) and Gracey Moon (Kirkwood, Mo./Kirkwood) have contributed 109 to the attack. As a team, the Miners are hitting .187 percent for the year and averaging 12.34 kills/set.

Drury, on the other hand, has won three in a row including a 3-1 win over Rockhurst last Friday in Springfield. The Panthers have climbed back to the .500 mark in GLVC play and are just a game behind S&T and Missouri-St. Louis for third in the GLVC's West Division.

Drury has a very balanced offensive attack with five players registering more than 60 kills and is led by BJ Specht with 96 while Laynie Timmons has 92, Sara Borneman and Chloe Foster have 88 and 82 respectively. The Panthers have a hitting percentage of .198 and are averaging 14 kills/set.

Maryville has a hitting percentage of. 147 and is averaging 12.19 kills/set and is led by Ashley Selman with 2.86 per set.
