(Rolla, Mo.) – The Missouri S&T softball team returns to the home diamond when it hosts Maryville and Missouri-St. Louis in a pair of Great Lakes Valley Conference doubleheaders this weekend. The doubleheaders begin at 12 p.m. both days. S&T softball will also celebrate its 35
th season of softball this weekend with all softball alums invited back for Saturday's doubleheader.
Former players will be recognized in an on field ceremony between games and there will be a barbecue after the games. Former players wishing to attend should contact

The Lady Miners snapped a six game losing streak and a 12 game conference losing streak with a 7-3 win in game 1 of the doubleheader at Drury on Tuesday.
Shelby Michaelis (Bettendorf, Iowa/Bettendorf) powered the offensive attack with four RBIs in the game while
Bethany Rader (Memphis, Mo./Scotland County ) got her first collegiate win with a complete game effort.
Andi Davis (Blue Springs, Mo./Archbishop O'Hara ) leads S&T with a .355 batting average while Michaelis is hitting .313 and has a team best 13 RBIs. As a team the Lady Miners are hitting just .232 and averaging just 2.4 runs per contest. In the circle
Becca Strope (Glen Carbon, Ill./Edwardsville) leads the team with 2.97 earned run average tossing six complete games and three shutouts. She has struck out 37 batters while issuing 25 free passes.
Maryville comes into Saturday's contest with a record of 9-13 overall, 5-5 in the GLVC and has dropped three straight. The Saints went 1-3 at home last weekend defeating Rockhurst 9-7 to open the weekend then fell in the nightcap 6-4. On Sunday Maryville was held to just two runs as it was swept by William Jewell 5-1 and 6-1.
Karlie Twisselman leads the Saints with a .365 batting average and is tied with Nicole Taylor for the team lead in RBIs with 16. Twisselman also leads the team in home runs with three while Taylor and Kelsey Kapitzke have two roundtrippers each. Maryville has a .286 batting average as a team and is averaging 4.3 runs per game. In the circle Taylor leads the way with a 5-5 record while Danielle Williams 3-6 and Kapitzke is 1-2.
On Sunday the Lady Miners play host to the 10
th ranked Tritons of Missouri-St. Louis who come into this weekend with a mark of 22-3 overall and 9-1 in the GLVC. The Tritons head to Springfield, Mo., on Saturday for a matchup with Drury. UMSL has won 15 of its last 16 contests.
The Tritons are hitting .303 as a team and have five players with batting averages over .300 led by Alex Stupek whose hitting .400. She, Brianna Butler and Jena Boudreau lead the team with six home runs apiece. Overall UMSL has hit 28 home runs and is averaging 6.3 runs per contest.
The Tritons have been dominant in the circle as well with Hannah Perryman and Brittni Chapman combining to go 21-3 with a 1.44 ERA. Perryman has struck out 157 hitters and is holding opponents to a .153 batting average. She has thrown seven complete games and recorded three shutouts on the season.
