(Evansville, Ind.) – Missouri S&T's softball doubleheader scheduled for Saturday at Southern Indiana has been moved to Rolla and will now begin at 11 a.m. S&T will still travel to Louisville, Ky., on Sunday to take on Bellarmine University.
Southern Indiana will be the home team for Saturday's games as it was originally scheduled to host those games. The Screaming Eagles enter the conference opener with a 4-1 record. Brooke Harmneing and Sarah Owens have combined to go 4-1 in the circle while the offense is paced by MacKenzi Dorsam with four runs batted in and is currently hitting .444. She also leads the team in hits (8) and is tied for the team lead in runs scored with five.
S&T (0-3) is looking for its first win of the season on Saturday. The Lady Miners lost a tough one last weekend to Saginaw Valley 5-3 giving up two late runs.
Kelsi O'Neill (Blue Springs, Mo./Blue Springs) leads S&T with a .429 batting average and is tied for the team lead in hits (3) with
Andi Davis (Blue Springs, Mo./Archbishop O'Hara ).
The two teams last met in 2012 with USI sweeping 13-0 (5 innings) and 7-6. The Eagles lead the all-time series 10-9.
