Softball doubleheader with Central Missouri postponed until Wednesday

(Rolla, Mo.) - Missouri S&T's softball doubleheader against Central Missouri has been postponed until Wednesday due to the inclement weather that hit the area on Sunday. The doubleheader will begin at 2 p.m. with the second game to begin approxiametly 30 minutes after the conclusion of the first game.

In addition to the games on Wednesday the Lady Miners will host a pair of Great Lakes Valley Conference doubleheaders this weekend against Rockhurst on Saturday and William Jewell on Sunday. Games will start at 12 p.m. on both days.

On Saturday S&T will play in its annual Breast Cancer Awareness game when they host the Hawks. The Lady Miners will be wearing a pink tee shirt which will be open for bidding. There will be a silent auction for the shirts during the doubleheader with bids starting at $10. The tee shirts will be cleaned after the games on Saturday and presented to the highest bidder at Sunday's doubleheader. Proceeds from the silent auction will be donated to The Joy of Caring Cancer Fund in Rolla, Mo. The Joy of Caring Fund assists patients in the following areas: prescription medications, food supplements, wigs, mastectomy bras, heating/cooling repairs and travel expenses.

On Saturday, April 5, the Lady Miners will be hosting Maryville University in a GLVC doubleheader and are inviting softball alumni back to take part in a celebration of the 35th season of softball at Missouri S&T. There will be a reception at 10 am. in the Hall of Fame room in the Gale Bullman Multi-Purpose Building followed by the doubleheader at 12 p.m. Alums in attendance will be recognized in between games of the doubleheader and a barbecue will follow after the doubleheader.
