Lady Miners start New Year with trip to Indiana

ROLLA, Mo. – The Missouri S&T Lady Miners begin the second half of their schedule with a trip to Indiana this weekend taking on the Saint Joseph's College Pumas on Friday and then will square-off against the Indianapolis Greyhounds on Sunday afternoon.

S&T enters play this weekend with a record of 4-5 and are 0-1 in the Great Lakes Valley Conference after snapping its five game losing streak with a 55-48 win over Culver-Stockton on Dec. 13. Elsie Greenwood (Breckenridge, Mo./Penney High School) led the way with 11 points and sealed the win hitting six free throws in the final 0:30.

Leigh-Ann Kesper (Edwardsville, Ill./Edwardsville) leads S&T in scoring averaging nine points per game while Greenwood is dropping in 8.4 a contest and Brittany Andersen (Saint John, Ind./Andrean ) is scoring 7.5 per game. Kesper continues to lead the GLVC in blocked shots with 2.78 per game and is ranked 10th in Division II in that category.

Saint Joseph's snapped its three game losing streak with a 58-42 win over Malone in Cleveland on Dec. 19. Kiki Wilson led the Pumas with 24 points while Kalea Parks dropped in 10.
SJC is averaging 61.7 points per game while allowing 65 per contest and is shooting 38.2 percent from the field. The Pumas have connected on 62 of its 167 attempts from beyond the arc and are shooting 67 percent at the foul line. They're being outrebounded by one rebound per game.

Kiki Wilson leads Saint Joseph's in scoring averaging 20.5 per game while Kalea Parks is dropping in 19.4 per contest and Courtney Kvachkoff is dropping home 12 points per game.

Indianapolis (4-5, 1-0 GLVC) has won four of its last six contests since beginning the season 0-3. The Greyhounds picked up a 76-64 win over Lincoln Memorial in their final game before the Christmas break.

UIndy is averaging 60.7 points per contest while allowing almost 66 points per game. It's shooting 41.2 percent from the field, but has made just 55 of its 180 attempts from downtown and is shooting 70 percent at the foul line. It's also being outrebounded by over four rebounds per game.

Kelly Walter leads three Greyhounds in double figures with 16.6 points per game while Princess German and Nicole Anderson are dropping home 12.8 and 11.1 points per contest respectively. Carly Lythjohan leads the team in rebounding with an average of nearly seven rebounds per game.
