S&T’s three game winning streak snapped at Bellarmine

(Louisville, Ky.) – The Missouri S&T Lady Miners had its season best three game winning streak snapped on Sunday in a 3-0 loss at Bellarmine. S&T struggled to generate any offense finishing with just three and were unable to put any of them on goal.

The game was scoreless for the opening 20 minutes then the Knights (9-2-2, 7-1-2 GLVC) broke the tie with two goals in a four minute span. Emily Hollander scored the first goal in the 21st minute tracking down a long pass from Abby Janszen from the left side of the box beating Kaitlyn Deister (St. Louis, Mo./Visitation Academy) to the lower right corner.

Mary Beth Gorhamn added to the lead scoring off a long pass from Lauren Holder and knocked it past a charging Deister.

Bellarmine finished the first 45 minutes outshooting the Lady Miners (5-7, 5-5 GLVC) 7-1 and put five of those shots on goal.

The Knights scored the final goal with 1:57 left in the game on Hollander's second of the contest. She made a run down the left side and was able to shoot the ball inside the far post.

Bellarmine finished the contest outshooting S&T 13-3 and put 10 of those on goal. Deister made seven saves for the Lady Miners.
