Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 ROLLA, Mo. – The Missouri S&T Lady Miners snapped it's four game losing streak hitting three home runs in a 6-2 win in game two of its doubleheader against Maryville on Sunday. The S&T bats were held silent in the opener as the Saints won 3-0.

In the nightcap the Lady Miners (8-13, 7-8 GLVC) shuffled their lineup around and it paid off in the first inning as Dana Lawson (Wildwood, Mo./Lafayette) hit a solo home run to left center with two outs. The game remained that way until the fourth inning. With one out Shelby Michaelis (Bettendorf, Iowa/Bettendorf) and Olivia Culbertson (Nevada, Mo./Nevada) reached and back-to-back singles. Erin Premer (McCook, Neb./McCook) would bring them around hitting on opposite field home run to left to make it 4-0.

Kyra Slemp (Roeland Park, Kan./Shawnee Mission East) added another home run in the fifth to make it 5-0 and then Kasilda Miller (Bourbon, Mo./) drove in Raven Loughridge (Belle, Mo./Belle) with a single back up the middle to make it 6-0.

That would be all the offense Becca Strope (Glen Carbon, Ill./Edwardsville) needed. She took a perfect game into the sixth inning and retired the first 16 hitters she faced before allowing back-to-back walks. Maryville (8-18, 5-11 GLVC) took advantage of those walks scoring two runs. The no-hitter was broken up with two outs in the sixth.

S&T had nine hits in the contest led by Kaylea Smith (Blue Springs, Mo./Blue Springs) with two. Strope went the distance allowing the two runs, one earned, on three hits while striking out four. She got 13 ground ball outs in the contest.

In the opener on Sunday, the Saints scored the first run of the game in the top of the first getting a two-out single through the right side to score the runner from second.

The Lady Miners had a chance to tie the game in the home half of the second. A pair of two-out errors and a stolen base put runners at the corner, but couldn't get the key hit.

Maryville added to its lead in the fifth scoring a pair of unearned runs on a two-out error.

Taylor Keal (Blue Springs, Mo./Blue Springs South) was the tough luck loser for the second straight day allowing the three runs, one earned, on eight hits while striking out two and walking one in the complete game effort. Slemp and Michaelis had the only hits for S&T.

The Lady Miners are scheduled to return to action on Tuesday when they travel to Liberty, Mo., to take on the William Jewell Cardinals in a doubleheader beginning at 2:30 p.m.
