(Rolla, Mo.) – The Missouri S&T Lady Miners conclude their season opening four-game home stand on Saturday with a visit from Harris-Stowe. The game is scheduled to tip-off at 1 p.m. at the Bullman Multi-Purpose Building.
S&T (2-1) looks to keep its offense rolling and end the home stand on a high note. The Lady Miners are averaging 78 points per game through the first three contests, is shooting 51.5 percent from the field and 51.3 percent from downtown. They have five players averaging double figures in scoring led by
Mia Wesley (Philadelphia, Pa./John Bartram) with 21 per night. Wesley is shooting 50 percent from the field and 44 percent from behind the arc.
Harris-Stowe has a game at Lindenwood on Thursday before traveling to Rolla. The Hornets are 2-1 on the season defeating St. Mary of the Woods 104-67 and Great Falls (Mont.) 67-48 before losing to Lindenwood-Belleville 68-60. HSSU is averaging 77 points per contest while shooting 44.2 percent from the floor and 35 percent from three. It is outrebounding the opposition by six rebounds per contest and forcing 21 turnovers per game.
The Hornets have four players averaging double figures in scoring led by Shanique Buford with 19 per contest. Mariah Fleming is dropping in 14 per night while Shakaunna Futrell and KeAris Vaughn are scoring 13.3 and 11.7 points per game respectively. Buford also leads the team in rebounding pulling down nearly 13 rebounds per game.
Saturday's contest will be the final home contest for the Lady Miners until after the New Year when they host Indianapolis on Friday, Jan. 3 at 5:30 p.m.
