Box Score (Rolla, Mo.) – The Missouri S&T Miner volleyball advanced to the GLVC Tournament for the third consecutive season by sweeping past William Jewell 3-0 (25-14, 25-15, 25-23) on Saturday in Rolla. The Miners (15-16, 10-8 GLVC) clinched the third and final automatic bid with the win and Missouri-St. Louis's 3-2 loss against Truman earlier in the afternoon. The Tritons and S&T both finished 10-8 in league action, but the Miners got the automatic bid by virtue of their 3-2 victory over UMSL on Oct. 12.

Krista Haslag (Linn, Mo./Helias ) led the way with six kills in seven chances. The set was tied 3-3 when the Miners took control with a 14-2 run to build a 12-point cushion. The third set was the tightest of the match. The Miners stormed out to an early 6-2 lead, but William Jewell refused to go away climbing to within 8-7 on a kill by Libby Ording. S&T led by a balance of three for most of the set, but couldn't shake the Cardinals. The Miners led 23-19 and appeared to be in complete control; however, Jewell scored three straight to cut the deficit to a point. S&T reached match point on a kill by Alison Mueller (Bartelso, Ill./Mater Dei ), but the Cardinals kept the contest going on a kill from Destini Dulin. The Miners ended the match on the next point with Haslag and Mueller combining for the block at the net on Christina Pratt.
