Box Score (St. Louis, Mo.) – The Missouri S&T Lady Miners climbed back to the .500 mark with a 1-0 win at Missouri-St. Louis on Sunday afternoon at the Don Dallas Soccer Field in St. Louis. S&T got the win despite being outshot 12-6 and 4-3 in shots on goal. It's the third shutout of the season for the Lady Miners.

For the third time in the last four games S&T (3-3-2 overall and GLVC) scored first. Kimberly Ekholm (Houston, Texas/Cy-Springs ) recorded her first goal of the season with 14:08 left in the opening period when she knocked home a shot that was deflected by a Triton (4-5-1, 2-5-1 GLVC) defender and into the goal. UMSL had a chance to tie the game late in the first half, but Kaitlyn Deister (St. Louis, Mo./Visitation Academy) turned the shot away in the final two minutes.

The Tritons had a 5-4 edge but the Lady Miners put two on frame compared to one for UMSL.

The Tritons controlled play for much of the second half recording seven shots in the stanza, but the S&T defense held strong with Deister making two saves and the defense saving a header from going in with less than five minutes to play.

The Lady Miners have won five of the last seven meetings against UMSL.

S&T returns home next Friday taking on the 20th ranked Bulldogs of Truman State beginning at 5 p.m.
