The Games - Missouri S&T opens the home portion of its schedule this weekend as it plays host to Saint Joseph's on Friday evening and Indianapolis on Sunday afternoon.
Last Time Out - The Lady Miners opened up Great Lakes Valley Conference action last weekend splitting a pair of road matches at Wisconsin-Parkside and Lewis.
Against Parkside on Friday, S&T gave up a goal in the seventh minute on a penalty kick and a second one 30 minutes later. That would be all the scoring in the contest as the Rangers outshot the Lady Miners by a 16-6 margin and put 12 of those on goal.
Madison Gibler (Kansas City, Mo./Staley) made nine saves in the contest for S&T.
On Sunday the Lady Miners continued their recent dominance of Lewis with a 1-0 win. It marks the fifth straight win in the series for S&T and it's now 5-1-1 against them since joining the GLVC. The Flyers dominated the opening 45 minutes outshooting the Lady Miners 6-0 and had two goals called back. One for a foul for obstructing the keeper and the other was called back for offsides.
Kim Ekholm scored the game winner in the 53rd minute when she headed home a corner kick from Kendra Woods. Lewis had a chance to it late but the S&T defense was able to clear the ball off the line before it went in. The Flyers outshot the Lady Miners 13-3, but
Kaitlyn Deister (St. Louis, Mo./Visitation Academy) made six saves, five in the first half, to record her third career shutout.
