Box Score (St. Louis, Mo.) - The Missouri S&T Lady Miners dropped their third straight contest on Friday losing at Maryville 1-0 in St. Louis, Mo. S&T (2-5-1, 2-5 GLVC) outshot the Saints (1-8-1, 1-6 GLVC) 14-8 but were unable to put one in the back of the net.
The game was scoreless until late in the 51st minute. Sabrina Drennan won a ball in the midfield and made a couple of defenders before sending a ball downfield to Cydney Robertson who snuck in behind the Lady Miner defense and beat
Stacey Luquette (St. Amant, La./St. Amant ) for the game winner.
S&T had its opportunites to tie the game but couldn't get it past Jena Casagrande. The Lady Miners took nine shots in the stanza and got five on goal. Maryville took four shots in the half with all four being on goal.
Leah Williams (Lawrence, Kan./Free State) had four shots, two on goal to lead the Lady Miners.
Lauren Todd (Raytown, Mo./Raytown South) added two on goal as well. Luquette made six saves in the contest.
Robertson and Dana Hillis each had two shots apiece for the Saints.
S&T returns to action on Sunday afternoon at Missouri-St. Louis beginning at 12 p.m.
