Box Score (Rolla, Mo.) – The 20
th ranked Quincy Hawks were too much for the Missouri S&T Lady Miners as it came away with a
3-0 victory in Rolla.
The Hawks (12-1, 9-1 GLVC) dominated the opening half outshooting the Lady Miners (3-7-1, 3-7 GLVC) 10-1 but put only two of those on goal. The second one resulted in the only goal of the half. Megan Wingenbach headed home a corner kick from Jaclyn Mastroianni in the 29
th minute for her third of the season.
Quincy went into the break with the 1-0 lead.
The Hawks added to its lead scoring a pair of goals within the first five minutes of the second half. Erin Thomas put home a rebound off a miss from Brittany Casey in the 47
th minute, then in the 51
st minute Casey scored from the top of the box into the upper 90.
S&T outshot Quincy 11-6 in the second stanza but were only able to put two on goal as opposed to all six of the Hawks shots being on target.
Leah Williams (Lawrence, Kan./Free State) led the Lady Miners with four shots.
S&T returns to action this coming Friday evening traveling to Indianapolis, Ind., for a matchup with the Indianapolis Greyhounds beginning at 4 p.m. (CST).
