Box Score (Highland Heights, Ky.) – The Missouri S&T Lady Miners had its school record 11 match winning streak snapped in a 3-0 (16-25, 22-25, 26-28) loss at 18^th ranked Northern Kentucky on Sunday afternoon.
S&T's (13-4, 8-1) offense struggled to get going in the first two sets as the Norse (13-2, 7-1 GLVC) held them to just a 5.4 hitting percentage. NKU on the other hand hit 31.7 percent in those two frames.
The Norse led the entire first two sets while the next two saw 23 ties and six lead changes. The Lady Miners hit 32.4 percent in the final set but were unable to overcome the deficit as the Norse hung on for the win in the third set.
Hayley Wright (Omaha, Neb./Millard West) led S&T with 14 kills. Erin Bekebrede (St. Charles, Mo./St. Charles) added eight more. Jennifer Costello (St. Louis, Mo./Parkway South ) had 30 assists while Jennifer Kegler (Ballwin, Mo./Cor Jesu Academy) had 10 digs.
Sarah Drennen and Noelle Peterson combined for nearly half of NKU's 48 kills. Jenna Schreiver had 41 assists and 11 digs leading the way for the Norse. Kim Nemcek and Kylee Tarantino had 10 digs apiece.
The Lady Miners return home on Wednesday evening hosting Missouri Baptist at 6 p.m. The match kicks off a three-match home stand for S&T.
