(Springfield, Ill.) – Rolla product Jaclyn Standfast's goal in the 51st minute proved to be enough as Missouri S&T picked up a 1-0 road win at Springfield, Ill., on Friday evening. S&T evened its record at 1-1 overall and in league play and also gave coach Joe McCauley his first win as the Lady Miners head coach.

The first half was scoreless though both sides had their chances as S&T outshot the host Prairie Stars (0-3, 0-2 GLVC) 9-5. Each team had three shots on goal.

Standfast scored the game winner at the 50:38 mark getting a pair of passes from Melissa Moorefield (St. Charles, Mo./Francis Howell) and Melia Miller (Richardson, Texas/J.J. Pearce) for her first college goal.

S&T again outshot UIS in the second half 9-5, but it was the Prairie Stars who had the advantage in shots on goal with four to the Lady Miners three.
