Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 (Rolla, Mo.) – With her complete game shutout in game two Jen O'Hara tied the school record for career wins and helped the Missouri S&T Lady Miners gain a split with the Drury Panthers on Saturday afternoon in Rolla, Mo. Drury won the first one 8-1 while S&T won the second game 2-0.

In the second game O'Hara got into some trouble in the first allowing two of the first three runners to reach but she was able to get out of the jam getting a fly out to center and a strikeout to end the threat. After allowing a one out single in the second O'Hara retired nine of the next 10 hitters until a one out single in the fifth.

In the second and third innings O'Hara got some help from her defense as Allison Plummer (Olathe, Kan./Marantha Academy) made a pair of full extension diving catches to end the second and start the third.

She allowed a one out double in the sixth before getting the next two hitters out on a strikeout and a fly out to center. In the seventh she sat the first two done before the number nine hitter doubled to left bringing the tying run to the plate but O'Hara got her to ground out to Kristen Drage (Morganfield, Ky./Union County ) ending the contest.

S&T (19-26, 8-12 GLVC) got its two runs in the first and fifth innings both thanks to some help by the Panther (14-38, 3-19 GLVC) defense. With two outs the Lady Miners had runners at second and third when Becky Davis (Blue Springs, Mo./Archbishop O'Hara HS) hit a ball to the third baseman that wasn't able to be handled bringing in Drage with the run.

In the fifth inning Krista Porterfield (Park Ridge, Ill./Maine South) doubled to left center then went to third on an error by the shortstop on Maggie Schroeder (Bonner Springs, Kan./Basehor-Linwood)'s grounder. With Drage batting Porterfield and Schroeder executed a double steal bringing in Porterfield with the second run.

S&T had eight hits in game two led by Porterfield, Drage and Coley Naughton (Alton, Ill./Alton) with two each. Davis and Emily Tucker (St. Louis, Mo./Cor Jesu Academy) had the other two.

O'Hara struck out seven and didn't walk a batter while allowing only six hits to improve to 10-16 on the year. She tied Erin Collins, 1995-98, for the most wins in a career with 53 and will have a chance to break that record against Rockhurst on Sunday afternoon.

In the first game on Saturday, Drury scored single runs in the first, third and fourth innings all with two outs. The Lady Miners cut that lead to 3-1 in the home half of the fourth on a dropped fly ball by the right fielder which would have ended the inning.

The Panthers though scored five runs on four hits in the fifth inning to break the game wide open. All five of the runs in the inning were unearned.

Ashley Wallingford (Kahoka, Mo./Clark County ) suffered the loss allowing eight runs, two earned, on 10 hits while striking out two and didn't walk a batter in her 4.2 innings of work. O'Hara pitched the final 2.1 innings and didn't allow a hit.

The Lady Miners return to action on Sunday afternoon hosting Rockhurst in a GLVC doubleheader beginning at 12 p.m. It will also be senior day for the Lady Miners as they honor their two seniors in between games of the doubleheader.
