(Rensselaer, Ind.) – Despite outshooting the host Saint Joseph's College, the Missouri S&T Lady Miners were unable to put one in the back of the net losing its season finale
1-0 on Sunday afternoon in Rensselaer, Ind.
The first half was pretty even with S&T putting all four of its shots on goal while the Pumas (3-14, 2-12 GLVC) had three shots all of which were on goal including the game winner. Allie Reiners scored on a shot from inside the box off a pass from Rosie Headley in the 29th minute for the winner. Each team had a pair of corner kicks in the period.
The Lady Miners dominated the second half outshooting SJC by a 10-0 count with nine of those being on goal but couldn't slip one past Sarah Croskrey as she finished the contest with 13 saves. S&T had four corner kicks in the second half compared to just one for the Pumas.
Brooke Ryan led S&T with four shots, three on goal. Hillary Griffith and Lauren Todd each had a pair of shots that were both on goal. Catherine Swift stopped two of the three shots she faced in the contest.
The Lady Miners finished the season with a 5-9-1 mark and were 5-8 in the Great Lakes Valley Confernece which is the most conference wins since joining the GLVC back in 2005.
