Box Score The S&T Lady Miners went into halftime tied with the Indianapolis Greyhounds, but the Greyhounds scored twice after the intermission as S&T fell
2-0 at the Missouri S&T Soccer Field on Friday evening.
The opening frame was evenly matched with both sides getting some great looks on goal but neither were able to find the back of the net. Indianapolis (6-2, 3-1 GLVC) had a slight edge in shots 8-7 over S&T (3-4-1, 1-3-1 GLVC) but put three on net while the Lady Miners didn't record a shot on goal.
The Greyhounds got on the board in the opening minute of the second frame when Lauren Soza headed in a cross from Jamie Huebner for the eventual game winner. Indianapolis added to its lead almost seven minutes later when Amanda Reese took a long passs from the goalkeeper, dribbled to the top of the box then shot it past the keeper.
The Lady Miners had their chances in the second frame putting eight of its nine shots on target four of which came in the final 10 minutes but Indy's Abby Tracy stopped them all earning the shutout.
Melissa Young (Jefferson City, Mo./Helias) led S&T with six shots, three on goal, while
Rachel Moore (Rolla, Mo./Rolla) had three shots, two on net.
