Krista Haslag (Linn, Mo./Helias ) added another postseason award on Wednesday being named to the CoSIDA Academic All-America® Division II Volleyball First Team as selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America. She becomes the third player in program history to be selected as an Academic All-American joining former teammates Jennifer Costello (2011 and 2012) and Hayley Wright (2013).
A civil and architectural engineering major with a 3.82 G.P.A., Haslag finished her career at S&T as the all-time leader in points scored (1,679.5), kills (1,306), solo blocks (96), assisted blocks (499) and total blocks with 595.
This past season she helped lead the Miners to a 22-11 record and their fifth straight appearance in the Great Lakes Valley Conference tournament. Haslag led the Miners in kills (373), hitting percentage (.309), solo blocks (31), assisted blocks (132), total blocks (163) and service aces (26). She was second on the team in kills per set with 2.98. She also ranked amongst the conference leaders in blocks (2
nd), hitting percentage (8
th) and kills per set (9
th).
The honor is the 84
th for Missouri S&T in the history of the program -- the fourth-most among NCAA Division II schools -- and fourth for the volleyball program. Missouri S&T has now received 60 Academic All-America awards since 2000.
