2023: Was redshirted for the season.

High School: Earned third-team all-state laurels and was selected as the Class 4 regional Player of the Year...threw for 2,593 yards and 17 touchdowns during his senior year, helping lead West Plains to the Missouri Class 4 semifinals...second-team all-conference quarterback in the Ozark Conference and also earned all-league honors as a punter.

Personal: Son of Daniel and Keena Simpson...attended West Plains High School, where his coach was Joel Wyatt...majoring in civil engineering at Missouri S&T.
