Biography

2009: Was an NCAA Division II provisional qualifier in the outdoor pole vault...cleared a season-best 16-0 3/4 at the Kansas Relays and at the GLVC Championships to finish fourth...also competed in the 200-meter dash where he recorded a top mark of 23.55 at Pittsburg State and in the long jump, where his best leap covered 20-5.

2008: Earned All-America honors in the pole vault at the NCAA Division II Indoor Championships…finished in seventh place with a personal-best mark of 16-2 3/4 in the competition…was the GLVC runner-up during the indoor season with a clearance of 15-7, finishing only behind teammate Jordan Henry…also made the NCAA provisional mark during the outdoor season with a top mark of 16-2 3/4 at Washington University…performance earned him the conference’s “Athlete of the Week” award.
 
2007: Made the provisional qualifying mark for the NCAA Division II Championships during the outdoor season in the pole vault…cleared a personal-best 15-9 1/4 at the Dewey Allgood Invitational and again at the GLVC Championships when he finished third…was seventh in the long jump at the conference’s outdoor meet with a mark of 21-6 1/4…had a clearance of 15-1 3/4 in the pole vault at the GLVC Indoor Championships to finish in a tie for fifth.

2006: Was the Miners’ third-ranked pole vaulter during the season with a top mark of 15-1 during the Godfather’s Division II Challenge at Emporia State...placed fourth at the GLVC Indoor Championships with a mark of 15-0 3/4, which was his best mark of the indoor season.

HIGH SCHOOL: Cleared 14-9 in the event at the high school level both indoors and outdoors; his clearance outdoors came in the sectional meet...finished eighth in the Illinois AA state meet in both 2004 and 2005.

PERSONAL: Son of Kerry and Betty Anders...majoring in mechanical engineering.
