2015: Started in all 51 games for the Miners at first base...batted .302 with 34 runs batted in, headed by three-RBI efforts against Wisconsin-Parkside and Missouri-St. Louis...had 13 multiple-hit games, including a five-hit performance against McKendree and a four-hit effort six days later against UW-Parkside...reached base in 17 straight games in one stretch in March.

2014: Led the Miners with a .335 average and in runs batted in with 25...led S&T with 18 multiple-hit games, including three-hit performances in both games of the April 18 doubleheader with William Jewell...was nine-of-17 at the plate in the four-game series against the Cardinals...tied for the team's longest hitting streak of the season of 11 games from April 12-25...made just two errors at first base in 445 chances...walked 13 times and struck out on only nine occasions in 170 at-bats...finished second on the team with 57 hits and also stole seven bases...started in all 49 games.

2013: Named to the All-GLVC West Division second team at first base…did not appear in a game until April 2 and did not make a start until April 13, but batted .397 in 68 at-bats from that point on and drove in 15 runs in the 24 games he played in…had eight multiple-hit games, led by a three-hit effort against Illinois Springfield…had an eight-game hitting streak from April 17-29, with at least two hits in six of those games and 15 hits during the course of the streak…finished the season with a .423 on-base percentage and was a .448 hitter with runners in scoring position…made just one error in 172 chances in the field.

2012: Was redshirted for the year.

HIGH SCHOOL: Played at Edmond Santa Fe High School, where he played at first base and in the outfield as well as pitcher…posted a .393 batting average as a senior with 30 runs batted in and 25 runs scored…recorded a 3.43 earned run average and struck out 10 hitters in 15 innings of work.

PERSONAL: Son of Chris and Janet Portwood…majoring in petroleum engineering.
