Summer Anagnostopoulos became S&T's new head softball coach in August of 2024, taking over after a two year stint by former coach Bryan Howard.
Anagnostopoulos previously served as the assistant coach at Three Rivers Community College in Poplar Bluff, Missouri. Anagnostopoulos has been with Three Rivers for the last four seasons, serving primarily as their pitching coach in that time.
In her first season at the helm, Anagnostopoulos guided the Miners to a 19-34 overall record and a 14-14 mark in Great Lakes Valley Conference play. The team highlighted the regular season with a victory over No. 22 McKendree and closed the year on a 5-1 run to secure the No. 7 seed in the GLVC Championship. Missouri S&T posted a 2-2 record in the conference tournament, earning wins over No. 2 seed Lewis and No. 4 seed McKendree before concluding its run against Illinois Springfield.
Anagnostopoulos followed that campaign by leading the Miners to one of the most successful seasons in program history in her second year. Missouri S&T finished 37-19 overall, recording the program's best record since 2004, while setting a school record with 22 GLVC victories against just six conference losses. The Miners earned ranked wins over No. 11 Central Oklahoma and No. 18 McKendree during the regular season and secured the No. 2 seed in the GLVC Tournament, the highest conference tournament seed in program history. After opening postseason play with a victory over Maryville, the Miners went on to receive an at-large berth to the NCAA Division II Midwest Regional, marking just the third regional appearance in program history. Entering the tournament as the No. 6 seed, Missouri S&T defeated No. 3 seed Findlay in its opening game before concluding the season against McKendree and Rockhurst. The regional appearance capped a record-setting season that reestablished the Miners among the top programs in the Midwest Region. During the campaign, the team set season program records for home runs with 61, RBIs with 301, walks with 211, runs with 321 and tied the program record for consecutive wins with 15.
In her tenure the Miners have earned 5 All-Conference selections, 2 GLVC All-Tournament Team honors, GLVC Player of the Week honors, 1 All-Region honoree and 1 NFCA National Player of the Week award. She was named Missouri S&T's Coach of the Year for a Women's Team at the 2026 Green & Gold Gala.
Before coaching, Anagnostopoulos played as a pitcher for Three Rivers in 2017-18, earning Region XVI Player of the Year, All Region XVI, and MCCAC All-Conference honors and finishing the season with 265 strikeouts and 26 wins.
After a successful freshman season with Three Rivers, Anagnostopoulos transferred to Mizzou, where she played another two seasons before graduating. She made six appearances in her time with the Tigers, striking out 6 batters in 8.2 innings. Additionally, she was named to the SEC Spring Academic Honor Roll in 2020.
Anagnostopoulos' husband, Michael, was hired as S&T's assistant coach in August of 2024 as well and the two live in Rolla, Missouri.
