Biography
2011: Qualified for the NCAA Division II championships during the indoor season in the 60-meter hurdles…was a first-team All-GLVC selection…posted his best mark of the season of 8.07 seconds at Iowa State and had a mark of 7.62 seconds in the 55-hurdles at the GLVC Indoor Championships to win the league title…was the GLVC runner-up in the indoor 400-meters with a time of 48.84 seconds…was also a part of S&T’s 4x400-meter relay team that had a top performance of 3:18.86 at Iowa State.
2010: Named as the Midwest Region’s “Track Athlete of the Year” by the United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association...finished fourth at the NCAA Division II Outdoor Championships in the 400-meter hurdles with a school record time of 50.98 seconds in the finals...also competed in the 4x400-meter relay at the national meet and was a provisional qualifier in the 110-meter hurdles...earned All-America honors during the indoor season as well by finishing fifth in the 60-meter hurdles, posting a top time of 8.11 seconds in that event during the year...had a hand in four winning events for the Miners at the GLVC Outdoor Championships held at Missouri S&T in early May, winning the 110-meter hurdles and 400-meter hurdles on an individual basis and anchoring two winning relay teams...was named as the GLVC's "Track Athlete of the Year" at the conference meet...had a hand in school records set during the season, setting marks on an individual basis in the indoor 400-meters, outdoor 400-hurdles and in four relays (two indoors and both outdoor relay events).
HIGH SCHOOL/AIR FORCE: Transferred to S&T from the United States Air Force Academy…competed in track and field at the academy…was an all-state performer in football at the high school level…was the state champion in the 300-meter hurdles at the high school level and earned all-state honors in four events.
PERSONAL: Son of Terry Lee Robinson and Francis Nieves...attended McCluer South-Berkeley High School…majoring in civil engineering.
