Biography

2016-17: Scored for the Miners at the GLVC Championships in the 200- and 400-yard individual medley events as well as the 100-yard backstroke…was part of S&T’s winning team in the consolation final of the 200-yard medley relay and also scored in the 400-medley relay…had top times of 51.06 in the 100-backstroke, 1:54.50 in the 200-back, 1:51.19 in the 200-IM and a team-best 4:02.64 in the 400-IM during the season…named to the CoSIDA Academic All-America third team and to the academic all-district first team.

2015-16: Finished fourth in the 400-yard individual medley and sixth in the 100-backstroke at the GLVC Championships…also placed in the consolation final of the 200-yard individual medley and 200-backstroke and as part of the 200- and 400-yard medley relays and 800-freestyle relay…time of 4:02.31 at the GLVC meet was the Miners’ best in the 400-IM during the year.

2014-15: Placed eighth in the 400-yard individual medley at the 2015 GLVC Championships, where he posted his season-best time of 4:05.47…scored in the 200-yard individual medley and 200-backstroke on an individual basis at the GLVC meet, while also scoring in the 200-yard freestyle relay and 200- and 400-medley relays…had top times of 1:52.73 in the 200-IM, 1:58.15 in the 200-butterfly, 51.94 in the 100-backstroke and 1:53.16 in the 200-backstroke.

PERSONAL: Son of Kevin and Lorraine Mossop… attended James E. Taylor High School in Katy, Texas and competed in the freestyle, breaststroke and individual medley… set the school record in the 200-IM during his senior year…earned first-team all-state honors last season and was part of a team that won a regional championship in 2012…was a state finalist in the 200-yard individual medley last season in the state of Texas…hails from a region of the country where the Miners have found a number of past standouts...majoring in chemical engineering.
