Biography

2010-11: Landed All-America honors at the NCAA Division II Championships in the relay events...was part of the Miners' 200- and 400-free relay team that placed eighth and both medley relay teams...S&T's 400-medley relay team set a new school record of 3:17.48...placed ffith in the 100- and 200-backstroke and seventh in the 50-yard freestyle at the NSISC meet...had top backstroke times of 50.92 in the 100-yard event and 1:54.94 in the 200...had marks of 20.75 in the 50-freestyle and 46.08 in the 100.

2009-10: Earned All-America honors in three relay events as a freshman...was part of the 400-freestyle relay that placed fifth and the 400-medley relay team that came in eighth...was also part of the 200-freestyle relay team that came in 12th...led off the Miners' 200-yard medley relay team that took second at the NSISC Championships...was also on the third-place finisher in the 200-freestyle relay and fourth-place team in the 400-freestyle relay...finished fourth in the 100-backstroke with a team-best mark of 50.91 seconds, sixth in the 50-yard freestyle at the NSISC meet, where he posted his seasonal-best time of 21.15 seconds and a seventh in the 200-backstroke in 1:55.75.
PERSONAL: Son of William and Lora Deegan…was named as his high school team’s most valuable player over the last two seasons of his high school career at Park Hill High School…earned the team’s “Freshman of the Year” award in the 2005-06 season and also landed two of the team’s coaches awards during his career…finished third in the 50-yard freestyle at the 2008 Missouri State Championships, where he posted a time of 21.25 seconds in the finals and fourth in the 100-freestyle in 46.49 seconds…was the leadoff swimmer for Park Hill’s 200-yard medley relay team that placed fifth at the Missouri State Championships last season...also competed in four events, with three top-eight finishes, at the 2007 state meet…holder of the school record in four individual events and two relays…majoring in mechanical engineering.
