2016-17: Scored in the 200-, 500-, 1,000 and 1,650-yard freestyle at the GLVC Championships…was part of S&T’s winning teams in the consolation finals of the 400- and 800-freestyle relays and runner-up team in the consolation final of the 200-freestyle relay…recorded top freestyle times of 48.25 in the 100, 1:40.88 in the 200, 4:33.31 in the 500, 9:39.22 in the 1,000 and 16:15.92 in the 1,650-free.

2015-16: Finished sixth in the 1,000-freestyle and eighth in the 500-freestyle at the GLVC Championships…scored in the 200- and 1,650-freestyle and as part of the 200- and 800-freestyle relays at the conference meet…swam in all of the freestyle events during his first year at S&T...reached NCAA provisional marks in the 200-free of 1:40.71, 500-free of 4:34.44, 1,000-free of 9:28.10 and in the 1,650-freestyle of 16:08.15.

PERSONAL:  Son of Jerry and Laura Schmidt…attended Hayden High School, where he was the Kansas Class 5-1A state champion in the 100- and 200-yard freestyle events and set the state record in the 200-freestyle…won his title in the 100-yard freestyle with a time of 46.75 seconds…as a junior, he set the state record in the 200-freestyle with a winning time of 1:41.25 and was just off that mark in winning the 2015 title when he had a mark of 1:41.83 in the finals – winning the race by over six seconds…anchored two scoring relay teams in the 200- and 400-yard freestyle relays at the 2015 meet and captured a state title in the 500-yard freestyle in 2014 in 4:39.57…also competes for the Topeka Swim Association and was named as the "Swimmer of the Meet" for the 2015 state meet in Kansas…majoring in civil engineering.
