Biography
2010-11: Kemp started all 28 games for S&T last season averaging 8.6 points, 3.0 rebounds and 2.96 assists per ball game...recorded career-highs in points (23), field goals made (9) and field goals made (5) in the opening round of the GLVC Tournament against Lewis on February 26...dished out a career-high nine assists and made a career-high six free throws against Missouri-St. Louis on February 19...ranks sixth all-time in school history with 234 assists and is 10th in three-point field goals made with 64...scored in double figures nine times last season.
2009-10: Started all 28 games for the Lady Miners last season and averaged 6.8 points and 3.9 rebounds in nearly 31 minutes per contest....led the team in assists with 82 and was second on the squad in steals with 49...she scored in double figures six times and set a new career-high in points with 16 against Missouri-St. Louis on January 4...in that game she was 6-for-10 from the floor, 2-of-4 from three and 2-for-2 at the charity stripe...she also dished out five assists in that contest...was named the MVP of the Lady Miner Classic (11/20 & 11/21) averaging eight points, eight rebounds and five assists while shooting 54.5 percent from the floor and 60 percent from downtown in S&T’s wins over Upper Iowa and Wayne State...she pulled down a career-high nine boards against Upper Iowa...she was also named to the GLVC Academic All-Conference team.
2008-09: Kemp appeared in all 29 contests with 13 starts including 10 straight...she recorded career-highs in points (13), field goals made (4), and three-point field goals made (3) against Westminster on December 30...she also recorded career-highs in rebounds with eight against Pittsburg State on November 28 and assists with eight against Southern Indiana on January 31...she scored in 25 of 29 contests and is among the team leaders in assists with 69 and steals with 39.
HIGH SCHOOL: Was a two-time all-state selection, earning first-team honors following the 2007-08 and 2006-07 seasons, while winning all-conference, all-district and all-region laurels. As a senior, she averaged 17.1 points, 5.2 rebounds, 5.2 steals and 5.3 assists...was a McDonalds All-America nominee. Kemp was named to the KTJJ Dream Team and was the KFMO Player of the Year. Her junior, she averaged 15.8 points, 4.3 rebounds, 5.5 assists and six steals per game as she shot 54 percent from the field and 36 percent from three-point range. In her sophomore year, she made 45 percent of her three-point tries and 48 percent of her shots overall in scoring 12.5 points and pulling down 3.2 rebounds a contest.
