Missouri S&T men's soccer coach has announced an addition to his coaching staff for the 2009 season. Nicolas Solano will serve as a graduate assistant coach.
"Nico's character, work ethic, and likeable personality will be an immediate asset to the Missouri S&T Men's Soccer Program," Ahearn said.
As a youth player, Solano was a member of elite club teams in Nebraska (U10-15: Viva-Arsenal Juventus) in Omaha where he served as captain and then in Maryland on the U16-17 Baltimore Bays in Baltimore where it was semifinalists of the Snickers Competition at the US Region II Tournament in 2001 and the US Region I tournament in 2004.
Solano attended Parkside High School in Salisbury, Md., where he was a first-team All-Bayside South selection for three seasons 2002-04 and was a two time Maryland All-State selection his junior and senior years. He graduated from Parkside in 2005.
He recently transferred from North Carolina State University to Missouri S&T enrolling in the engineering management program.
