CAREER BESTS & RESULTS

2023-24: Was the GLVC runner-up in the outdoor 5,000-meters with a time of 14:36.17; also finished fourth in the 1,500-meters for the GLVC outdoor championship team…also took second in the indoor mile at the conference meet with a season-best time of 4:15.29…competed in three cross country meets during his freshman season, which included a second place showing at the Larry Young Invitational…member of GLVC All-Academic team and recipient of the Br. James Gaffney Distinguished Scholar Award.

2024-25: Became the first S&T runner to compete at the NCAA Division II Championships in 21 seasons, finishing 66^th with a school record time of 31:00 over 10 kilometers…was ninth at the NCAA Midwest Regional in 31:15 to earn his spot at the national meet…placed fourth at the GLVC Championships with a school record time of 24:12 over eight kilometers…captured the individual title at the Southwest Baptist Invitational to begin the cross country season and also recorded a 15^th place showing at the Chile Pepper Festival…broke two school records during the outdoor track & field season, establishing new marks in the 1,500-meters of 3:45.47 and 5,000-meters of 13:57.48, which earned him a third place finish at the Bryan Clay Invitational in California…had a pair of top-three finishes at the GLVC Outdoor Championships, taking second in the 5,000-meters and third in the 1,500…named as the GLVC’s Scholar-Athlete of the Year in men’s cross country, becoming S&T second cross country student-athlete to earn the award…member of College Sports Communicators Academic All-District team…member of GLVC All-Academic team and recipient of the Br. James Gaffney Distinguished Scholar Award.

High School: Earned all-state honors in Kansas after finishing third at the 2022 Class 6A state meet, posting a time of 15:36…was fifth at the state meet in 2021.
 
Personal: Attended Shawnee Mission Northwest High School…son of Paul and Amy Born…majoring in mining engineering at Missouri S&T.
