Biography

CROSS COUNTRY: Was the Miners’ No. 2 runner in five meets during the 2007 season, including the GLVC Championships and NCAA Great Lakes Regional…ran in every meet during the season…ran in all seven meets last season, with a top finish of third at the Miner Invitational...posted a five-kilometer time of 15:44 in that meet...best 8K time of the season was a 26:40 at the Loyola Lakefront race in Chicago...also had a 16th place effort at Kansas in the season opener...ran 34:40 over ten kilometers at the regional meet...was among the top five in three meets in his freshman year...best finish in a meet was seventh at the Miner Invitational in 27:26; best time of the season was 26:06 at the GLVC Championships where he finished second among the UMR runners...had a time of 34:16 in his only 10K race of the season at the NCAA Great Lakes Regional.

2008:

2007: Posted an eighth place finish in the 3,000-meter run at the GLVC Indoor Championships…had a time of 9:00.64 at that meet, with his best mark of 8:49.71 coming at Missouri Southern a month earlier…did not compete during the outdoor season.

2006: Earned a fourth-place finish in the 3,000-meters at the GLVC Indoor Championships as he posted a time of 8:55...had the team’s second-best mark in the event last season of 8:43.18 in a meet at Iowa State...also had a 4:28.10 in the indoor mile...placed 11th in the outdoor 5,000-meters with a time of 15:49.97 at the conference meet...posted a 15:21.61 in that event at Truman State early in the season.

HIGH SCHOOL: Was the Massachusetts state champion in the mile as a prep and set a course record in cross country.

PERSONAL: Born Dec. 27, 1986 in Malden, Mass....son of Stephan and Patricia Murray...attended Wilmington High School, where he was the Massachusetts state champion in the one-mile run and an all-state performer in track and cross country...majoring in engineering management.
