Ryan Luttrell is entering his fourth season with Missouri S&T, having joined the Miners as Assistant Director for Athletic Communications in January 2024 before being promoted to Director of Athletics Communications in August of the same year. In his current role, Luttrell serves as the leader of the Athletic Communications department and serves on the athletic department's administrative team, meeting weekly with the Director of Athletics and Assistant Directors of Athletics to assist with department planning and operations.
Luttrell's duties as Director of Athletics Communications include overseeing staffing for scorers table and content creation positions at home events, coordinating and operating media days, managing student-athlete award nominations, overseeing social media for all 30 official Missouri S&T Athletics accounts, and providing press box oversight on gamedays. He also works alongside the Assistant Director of Communications to provide comprehensive coverage of all 17 Miners teams, while managing a variety of other gameday responsibilities and contributing to the development and organization of department-wide systems and initiatives, including the Pickaxe Platoon Rewards Program.
During his tenure at S&T, Luttrell has helped significantly expand the department's digital presence, with an emphasis on branding, social media strategy, and content creation. Under his leadership, the Miners have more than doubled their Instagram following, with the department's social media accounts surpassing two million views in a single month. He developed the department's student photography manual to streamline and improve gameday content creation, established a centralized workflow for storing and sharing digital content, and built Missouri S&T's media day operation from the ground up.
In 2025, Luttrell served as the Sports Information Director and Marketing and Promotions contact for the NCAA Division II Men's Basketball Midwest Regional hosted by Missouri S&T on the campus of the University of Illinois Springfield. Following his first season as Athletics Communications Director, he was selected as Missouri S&T's Staff Member of the Year by the university's Student-Athlete Advisory Committee. In 2026, he served as Midwest Region Chair for the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association (NCBWA), helping coordinate Midwest Region and National Player of the Week voting.
Prior to joining Missouri S&T, Luttrell spent two and a half seasons with the Pensacola Christian College Eagles as a Graduate Assistant for Sports Information and Operations, following an internship with the department during the 2019-20 season. He also interned with the Pensacola Blue Wahoos, the Double-A affiliate of the Miami Marlins, working in Community Relations.
Luttrell holds a bachelor's degree in Sports Management and a Master of Business Administration, both from Pensacola Christian College. Originally from Gulf Breeze, Florida, he and his wife, Audrey, reside in Rolla, Missouri, with their son, Weston.
